Day Eleven

Today was full of technology.  We began the morning learning about Canvas, a Learning Management System.  After getting logged into Canvas we explored the different components of the site.  We learned about Modules, Announcements, and Discussions.  This afternoon, we used our headphones to create audio files on Canvas.   We also began working our Webquest projects.  We revisited Weebly so that we could update our website.

Day Seventeen

We began the morning learning how to use Infographics.  The first site that we visited was piktochart.com.  Here's what I came up with using the information provided by Dr. Lee Piktochart At the end of the day, we went to the Giles computer lab and learn how to create a Prezi slideshow.  Due to technical difficulties, Ms. Agnew, indicated that she would upload a tutorial video. We also worked with Adobe Spark again but this time we used video. Here's a look at what I did.

Day Eighteen

Today began with a synopsis of how the rest of the week would go, and then we began working on setting up our OWN business.  Our team decided to develop an Afterschool Tutoring program named Full Circle Learning. After lunch, Dr. Straughter came in to discuss how we as educator should take care of ourselves.  We took an assessment on our overall wellness.  It determined that my compassion satisfaction is high and that my burnout and secondary trauma level were low. We ended the day with a global perspective talk with a native of Brazil.

Day Five

Everyday it gets gooder and gooder....... Today started off by learning to create a website.  I thought this is something that I would never be able to do especially without pulling out all my hair.  We learned how to create a website through Weebly.  I think this would be a great capstone project for my students.  The students would create a page for each of the units that are taught in ICT, and that way I would be able to determine what he or she learned this year without actually having to give a final exam.  Then we discussed, 1:1 initiatives.  I was extremely excited to learn more about them, and actually drafting a letter was ideal.  I can now present this letter along with some additional research to the superintendent with hopes of establishing a 1:1 initiative in our district. Lastly, Dr. B gave us some great tips on designing our websites and showing us the ABC's R US to a great website.
