Today was an interesting, it began with the Assistant Secretary of State discussing with us how to form a business.  Jeremy explained to us how to use the state website  to find trends when deciding to open a business.  The state website is sos.ms.gov. We then worked on our art projects and Weebly websites for the rest of the day.

Today began with a presentation by Ms. Fulton on technology.  We learned about Thinkology and how to stream a YouTube video from our classroom and post to our websites.  We also learned how to hyperlink a Google Doc (HyperDocs). We completed our Flat Stanley presentations.  Here's a sneak peak: We ended the day learning how to brand ourselves, and to come up with our own marketing plan.  Tomorrow we will actually get to put this into place.

We began the morning by learning about Adobe Spark. Next, Dr. B gave a tutorial on Camstasia.  Here we learned how to create videos in preparation for our FlatStanley videos on tomorrow. Unfornately, I was not able to load our progress as software was not on the lab we were in at the end of the day.  I will be sure to upload tomorrow. Finally, Dr. Lee gave us a crash course in Canvas. He explained to us how to set up our own classroom and we worked our way down the navigation menu. Today we were introduced to Flat Stanley, and given the opportunity for Flat Stanley to tour the MSU campus. Flat Stanley toured the campus Science style.  Afterwards, we continued to work on our Art Projects. Today was full of technology.  We began the morning learning about Canvas, a Learning Management System.  After getting logged into Canvas we explored the different components of the site.  We learned about Modules, Announcements, and Discussions.  This afternoon, we used our headphones to create audio files on Canvas.   We also began working our Webquest projects.  We revisited Weebly so that we could update our website.

Another week is in the books.  We had a very interesting day.  We began the day learning how to cut out our art projects, and let the games begin.  First, Dr. B, taught us how to create our own game boards using Word and Excel. Then, Mr. Justin came in and showed us how to use formative assessment with gamification. Finally, we visited the T.K. Martin centered and learned how technology is used for people disabilities especially communication. Useful applications: Schoology Socrative Neaprod

Planning, Planning, and More Planning.   Teachers are always planning. We continued our lesson about Understanding by Design. After completing the lesson, we were tasked with creating a sample lesson plan of our own based on our subject area. Beverlee and I created a lesson plan on how to understand Word Processing Skills.  We discovered that our essential question was related to our desired results.  I learned that my ICT lesson plans have been way off track, and I will be better prepared for the upcoming school year.  Helpful Websites bubbl.us - Brainstorming tool WorditOut.com - word clouds www.timetoast.com - timeline
